First Aid at Work

Once qualified, holders of the First Aid at Work certificate can be used as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations. The First Aid at Work course is run over 3 days and includes both theory and practical sessions:

CPR & the Unconscious Casualty	First Aid Priorities
Wounds and Bleeding	Managing Incidents
Burns & Scalds	Examination of a Casualty
Choking	Fractures
Poisoning	Heart Conditions
Head Injuries	First Aid Regulations, Reporting and Recording

We can also tailor our First Aid at Work courses to provide additional elements that your workplace requires.

These courses are delivered on a regular basis and individuals are able to book below. Alternatively we can deliver courses in your own workplace for a maximum of 12 people per course; although more than one course can be run simultaneously. Please call us to book courses just for you.

Candidates are assessed throughout the course on the practical elements. There are also two multiple choice examinations, one taken at the end of day one and one at the end of day three.

Upon successful completion and examination this course is valid for three years after which a re-qualification course can be completed to maintain this qualification. In line with the HSE we also recommend an annual refresher to maintain the skills and knowledge required as a first aider.
